The Virtues of Prudence and Nature
The precise form that the natural good that we should choose will often, if not always, be impossible to determine a priori. Aristotle and St. Thomas would tell us that what we need to make a correct judgment about the true good in our concrete circumstances is the virtues that they call prudence. The prudent person knows not only what our natural goods are in general and how they are related to each other, but what they are in concrete circumstances.
