Pluto's Reclassification

Pluto briefly joined the premiership of objects orbiting the sun but was relegated and is now but a dwarf planet, one of several. Of course, Pluto doesn't give a monkeys and is entirely unaware of its changing status. But does this demotion make any difference to how excited we should be about it scientifically? Mike Brown, the man who killed Pluto, doesn't think so. He actually thinks it's more interesting when it's correctly classified as a member of the Kuiper Belt than it is when it's incorrectly classified as a planet.
