Effects of Movement Breaks on Blood Sugar Levels and Mood
Taking movement breaks every half hour throughout the day resulted in a 42% decrease in blood sugar levels, similar to medication for pre-diabetic or diabetic individuals. Sitting all day led to progressively worse mood, but taking walking breaks kept mood stable and reduced anxiety, irritability, and depressive symptoms.
