John Avlon: People who move out of New York state typically save 15 times more from lower housing costs than from tax savings. He says there are enormous gaps and costs of living, post-pandemic; people are sorting their options based on rational calculations.Avlon: The reveal preference thing is exaggerated but real. There has been immigration into red states. It's not as blue as like the West Coast necessarily, but there is a factor there for sure.
