The Future of the Universe
If we would know right away, if the universe was slowing down. If it's happening all at the same time that it happens also to stuff that's really far away, we wouldn't see any evidence of it for a long time. But I guess there's some comfort to know that we're looking at galaxies that are 13 billion years old. And so far it doesn't look like the universe is compressing, right? So why would it suddenly change now? Yeah, we have no reason to suspect that it will. We also don't understand what's going on really at all. The simplest model is to just extrapolate continued accelerating expansion. Engineers could say it was in the future
