What Are the Most Important Findings From the Pond?
In 91 out of the 168 burials, some brain tissue was still existing. And in a few there was an entire intact brain. It also is early evidence for medicinal use of plants. In some cases, it was actually possible to determine their last meals by finding the materials around their remains. This suggests that some of these people were probably enduring a lot of pain in their last hours.
