A Brief History of St. Ambrose
Augustine met the city's bishop, St. Ambrose of Milan in 384. He was about fifteen years older than Augustine and had become one of the most influential Christians in history. At this juncture Augustine had expressed formal interest in Catholicism but was still in a religious gray area. In Milan Augustine soon formally severed his ties with Mannequism and it became a catechumen in the Catholic Church.
