Is There an Ultimate Truth?

Free will is one of the big philosophical illusions we live with that don't really make sense intellectually, but we somehow keep going with them. We talked about having seeing our lives as having a story, a narrative. I wouldn't say that was ana illusion, except, you're very unlikely to be true yourself if you're doing that. The trouble is that word is too hopelessly vague to know whatever whatevers meant by that. And i certainly don't think there's something else called a self that's not physical or a personal identity.
