The Death of the Author
No longer is writing a means by which to stave off or to push death away, like with the Greeks. Today instead, writing has license to kill, not necessarily in its content, but it's in its effacement of its author. That is the death of the author always moving beyond it. So this is further reduced by the writer's status as a writer, a person without identity existing only for the text.
