i think the reason that book landed, even though most of my colleages on the field of anthropology kept it at arm's length. It obviously hit a nerve. Bcause it was basily permission for a bunch of horny polyamoros these days. So it was like, cos science cus history. We get to go get busy, you know, beause that's the way it's always been. But what i find interesting is the studies over time don't find that people are engaging in those relationship types any more than they have in the past.
