Stretch Induced Hypertrophy in Women

Dyer: Women had more than twice the increase in range of motion on the needle wall test. She says stretch mediated hypertrophy by using a long-lasting static stretch was effective, but less effective in women. Dyer: Is it just simply that it's harder for them to induce a high level of tension when doing these passive stretching because they already have a high degree of flexibility? "I think should provide some optimism to the potential utility of trained individuals," she says.
