What Is Insistent Realism?
Dietrich bonhaffer coined the phrase, insistent realism. He said that if your christianity doesn't show up in lived reality, it is not christianity. Insistent realism looks like george muller of bristol who fed ten thousand orphans through prayer alone. And so, brothers and sisters, are we a living, breathing demonstration of the reality of god in our day or not? Our cultural moment is insistent in its unrealism to take god out of all things. We all do. Let's settle this question right now, once and for all. Is god living and active in the real stuff of life or not? If so, let's pray.
