Robotic assisted surgery is far more comfortable than laparoscopic or open surgery, both of which we still do but just less frequently. In the cost of the better ergonomics it may even increase the active life of a surgeon by a few years because they don't feel quite exhausted by the time they're in their 50s and 60s.
