The Amoeba in Rest
When we look at an amoeba, in a state of rest, so the on the left of this, you know, that's just it in its rest. But what Ellsworth Baker found is, if you prod it a few times, just a few, it'll go into the state of contraction and then expand again. And we can begin to basically to understand armoring, for me, this is the best metaphor of armoring because you just symbolically begin to expand this out.
