The Evolution of Perception

In a person with dissociation, let's not talk about pathological dissociation. We all undergo dissociation all the time and most of the time it's not pathological. So it stands to reason that we would have evolved to indirectly represent external states as these external states impinge on our dissociative boundary. The alternative is that you're not dissociated - so you're a telepath. There is still an external world that you cannot change just by doing your morning affirmations.
