There was a misunderstanding about the later music right which is that you kind of wanted to address too. I mean, once the question of tonality as contingent arises then I had to say, well, what is it when it does arrive and what does it mean? And that brought me very much into the 18th 19th centuries. Of course, like all musicologist I was always teaching history survey is always teaching courses on opera. In order to make the early music sent make sense.
