Is It Hard to Run a Program You Know on Linux or Windows?

Games have a higher bar for the correctness we throw out less than we used to. Back in the doom quake days yeah we would throw everything out every time because what we had to do was so different nowadays that doesn't really happen anymore. It's like looking around and saying like wait where are we with respect to all this software stuff? I don't seem to be able to consistently run software on operating systems such as Linux or Windows. Containers are one of my pet peeves haha We somehow it's great they make running programs harder by linking against dynamic libraries which seemed like a good idea at first but now other system has different dynamic libraries right  so it may not run even though
