Progressive somersation involves drilling down to the main point of a book. It can be done in multiple stages, and sometimes those stages are spread way out over time. A year later, i do my first tylits, like onthe the main passages i've kept. And then a year later I do the second layer, write - so you're your learning process and your reading instead of being one moment in time.
