The Acquisition Process for We Work
The acquisition process started almost a year and a half before it happened. So I think like my advice to founders that are thinking they might exit or might need to exit, businesses are bought not sold. And if they're sold, it's probably not for a price you like. It really requires developing a relationship with the buyer and positioning yourself as sort of the answer to their question. That takes years of building a relationship and building trust. Adam had made an offer a year prior to the acquisition. We continued to prove that we were the team that he was looking for, solve in the problem he was looking to solve. Then ultimately we were was willing to pay a higher price.
