Capone and the Bureau of Prohibition
Newly inaugurated President Herbert Hoover launches a multi-agency task force to bring down Al Capone. The government has had a Bureau of Prohibition since 1920, but it's not been a success. A ham-picked squad of men believed to be immune from corruption is tasked with proving his crimes. Heading the squad is 27-year-old Chicago native, Elliot Ness. Within six months, they cost Capone massive amounts in lost revenue for almost $34 million in today's money.
