What I'd Overheard My Family Talking About University
i had no reason to doubt them before then, because my parents had never questioned them in my presence. But only afterwards you discovered that what that was about was going away to labour camps and whether they got out or not exactly. So i knew that they always took an interest in universities, and that's because i always thought, you know, they're committed to education, and they want me to do well. And this was only later revealed when they talked about some one dropping out was that the person had committed suicide in a political prison. Or if they said that this person stayed on and became a teacher, it meant that they had converted into a spy.
