The Great Depression
sydney pressy got some great reception to his his machine, his machine a. He tried to commercialize it, but unfortunately, he ran into a little historical event called the great depression. No one was really interested in either replacing teachers with machines, or a or acta schools. Schools couldn't afford them. They were incredibly expensive. So sydney eventually failed, i think, to to bring his machine to market successfully. But he really is still seen fom the inventor of this idea of using a machine for automating teaching and automating testing as well.
