The Life and Times of Socrates

Prodicus was a pupil of Protagoras and an ambassador to Athens. His pupils included Socrates, Euripides, and the orators Theramennes in ice-ocrates. In several of the Platonic dialogues, Socrates appears as his friend in companion. Prodicus also made linguistics and ethics prominent in his curriculum. He taught both philosophy and politics, and not just rhetoric.
