The Perpetual Security of Refugees
Elizabeth found through her research and time with these families that security doesn't just come from emigration papers. Security can be receptual. Perceptual security is the idea that you don't necessarily need a residence permit for these kids to feel secure. If families can maintain and grow an ordinary life, one with as little stress and fear as possible. Children with resignation sindram, can feel that too and start to wake up that hat. Elizabeth has advised all the families she works with to do, including lila's parents.
