If golfers deem it an advantage to play a hole on an alternate fairway for the sake of a particular angle, is that a sign of bad golf architecture? I think more and more it's it's a sign that things are changing. You know, the place where it's a problem today is Oakmont. The only reason guys are doing that now is because they're so long they can give up 50 yards for a better angle. It doesn't matter because they're all so long anyway.
