The Common Doctor

St. Thomas Aquinas is called in part the common doctor because he's able to mediate this to us in a way that is received as recognizable and receivable both. And so like G.K. Cheston for instance will vindicate St. Thomas Aquina as a kind of teacher of common sense. So even though the idiom is a 13th century idiom and there are going to be some obstacles or hurdles to get over it actually I think it corresponds to reality.
