Blackness and Arab Identity in Africa

Your mother is a huge part of your poetry and is in an entryway into talking about blackness and Arab identity in Africa. I wondered if this long non-question of mine, what it brings up for you about her attitudes maybe more specifically? And then how those do or don't align with your own experiences around being in Morocco yourself in relation to blackness. Sure. We've talked about that at length, but I'm approximating for the sake of comprehensibility and the possibility of this conversation. There are indigenous black groups to the North of Africa. So the Haddatin as an example are a Berber people who are desert dwellers who are black or darker skinned.
