IPF - Do You Have Symptomatic Reflux?

There was a conditional recommendation for not treating empirically with antireflux meds to improve the IPF. Now the caveat is if they have reflux, of course, we want to address that because there is the thought that micro aspiration may be playing a role even in their way in lung disease injury and fibrosis. I will say a number of these patients do develop hyatopreneas and whether it's a chicken or the egg, whether they have that and that contributed to their fibrosis...I certainly would consider and send some of them for laparoscopic hy atoprenea repair.
