"If I've got the chance to go there, I'm going to take it because what's going on right now is too much," she says. "I stayed in Syria for two years... Obviously, there was no support from the government and I was like that." Her father came here as an illegal immigrant who wanted to put his family in a 'better position' than they were at the time. He spent one and a half years trying to get papers signed so he could enter by plane to Australia. She describes how her mother tried to help her out of their financial situation but couldn't do it.
