Gideon's Pride Coin
When Israel tries to make him king, Gideon says God is your king. Then he asks for all their gold jewelry and makes his own Ephid. Insecurity and arrogance are just different sides of the same pride coin. This is a great example how we can lie to ourselves in subtle ways that distract our hearts from worshipping God alone.
