Sally Kohn: Let's peel back a little bit and go back to some of your early years. What were some formative experiences? And as you reflect on that, about some people who may have had pivotal roles in the twists and turns of your saga.Kohn: I think my dad and my second grade teacher, I've literally never thought about this until you asked me to teach you. But if I think about who during that period was,. we were very typical immigrant family, nobody spoke English; went to a lower income school.
