A Psychiatrist's View of a Depressed Child
Claire's condition got worse fast. She lost the ability to walk and her vocabulary completely reversed. Psychiatrists at a private clinic tried to help, but it just made things worse. Claire was now extremely disturbed and covered in bruises. Eventually neurological experts suggested checking for variant c j d - a new disease that few knew anything about. It is putting a fairly high voltage shock through the brain. If that's done to anybody, even a normal person, that would have an effect on you for a period of time.
