The TANGRE, Renal Failure Risk Formula
Hannah Cashlack: A 67 year old woman who's presenting to our primary care clinic with a history of CKD stage four, hypertension and diabetes. She hasn't seen her nephrologists in a while and she's asking us if she thinks she might need to start dialysis soon. We actually have enough information to kind of calculate her, what they call the TANGRE, renal failure risk formula. This is a formula that was published in JAMA a few years ago. And when you do that, she comes out to, she has a 37% chance of being on dialysis in the next two years.
