The Taliban's Importance in Afghanistan

60% of the country in 2018 was under the control of the Taliban when you took this job. It could have been a lot worse. The choice is now mostly theirs. Now it's time for Afghans to take ownership with non-military assistance. Unless we are threatened, then our military should be in play.
