The car dealership Association has been so successful at limiting and in 17 states making it illegal to buy cars from any one but dealers. You can't get service On your car except for a dealership, I don't think you're allowed to do the the over-the-air software updates into cars are prohibited because that's a violation of the exclusive maintenance clauses.
