How to Use Eccentric Exercise to Manage Tough Tendons
There's actually a role for all of them. The key thing is working out right patient, right time, right dosage. Eccentric if they're given in season on top of already high in-season loads actually make people worse and people stop doing them. It might be a nice start point, but don't keep them there. If someone's going to try an isometric, it's an early intervention. They need to move on to isotonic, concentric, eccentric and then energy storage. These really about understanding exercise prescription and where it fits into rehabilitation journey.
