The Hypocrisy of the American Fear of Revolution

Do you think that there is a contradiction in sort of what you mentioned as an American fear of revolution but also a resistance to being seen as a colonizing power? I can understand why Americans would have a hard time understanding themselves as colonizing another country but we also gained our independence through revolution so is there a hypocrisy in our supposed fear of revolution elsewhere yeah.
