The Positive Transcendence of Private Property
Private property should not be conceived merely in the sense of immediate one sided enjoyment. Man appropriates his total essence in a total manner, he writes. For suffering, humanly considered, is a kind of enjoyment of man. The life which they serve as means is the life of private property, labor and conversion into capital.
