AI and Capitalism: A Teleological Identity
A new book argues that AI is the realization of capitalism. The author, Nick Land, says there's a teleological identity between artificial intelligence and capital. They see two left perspectives on the impact of AI on capitalism: minimalist and maximalist. Maximalists think it could lead to socialism by reducing or eliminating need for work. Minimalists say this isn't happening; they point to past predictions of jobless futures which haven't come to pass.
