The Birthplace of Country Music

Bristol has the birthplace of country music museum. It started in Appalachian mountains as hillbilly music. In 1925, an insurance company bought a radio station to promote their I guess insurance and they do live radio shows. They did a show called WSL and Barn Dance where they just played country music. Then one night brought before it, they were doing opera. And when the guy came on for the Barn Dance show, he said, you've been listening to opera, but now you're listening to, going to listen to some grand old opera. The name stuck.
