The Importance of Public Service in Europe

You've been an early advocate of industry in Europe. What attracted you to public service and particularly the interest in industry? For me there's an intrinsic reward in having the opportunity to put one's capabilities, knowledge and expertise to work for the public good. And I think that my interest in working with industry in particular follows from that.
