The Unfair Effectiveness of Mathematics

It seems kind of surprising and really cool that mathematics turns out to be so good at describing the physical universe, right? This abstract formal system that we've perhaps invented comes about just by mathematicians thinking in the abstract. And maybe something like a hint at the fact that the universe is in a way kind of made in these mathematical terms. So that's an interesting thought. Maybe there's some hope that that could be something of a universal, the even crazy, arrival type aliens might be able to communicate with us in terms of math. I'd love to believe that.
