Is There Any Government That Is Afraid of Writers?

Fiction writers in latin america do have a long tradition of political involvement in their novels. Is it still ha and is there any government, is there any regime that is frightened of writers? It's interesting, because when you have democracy tat has been replaced by a dictatorship, the first thing the dictatorship does is to silence public opinion. Young writers are way less political than my generation and an the previous generation, the writers of the boom. They're still politics, but not as much as before.
