The Little Mermaid and the Glass Beach

A glass beach in California is made out of recycled glass that the ocean has turned into glass rocks. When mollusks die, it no longer needs its shell and the shell is shed from the body and left to float freely in the waters. UV rays penetrate outer skin layers and hit deeper layers where they can cause damage or kill skin cells. Too much exposure to UV light can cause skin cancer.
