Page and Bryn were confident, almost to the point of being arrogant. In order to fine tune their algorithm, they needed plenty of real world feedback. The search engine grew increasingly popular, serving more than 10,000 queries per day by late 1998. Bell claims that there was no way he could justify upsetting this existing talent - some of them were founders of the company.
