The deal gets done in the summer of 1997. The company and with benchmark and David Byrne highly involved has recruited Meg Whitman superstar Meg Whitman from Hasborough, previously of Disney strap planning fame. At the IPO in September 1988 benchmark stake of the 6.7 million they invested is worth 400 million Fortunately for them though. They're still locked up for another six months. I believe it was bane one of the big three consulting firms to come in Take over a CEO and lead this business and God does Wall Street love this story.
