The Differences Between Military and Civilian Operations

The head of Bletchley Park at the beginning of the war was a civilian in uniform chap called Alistair Denistan. The boffins were not temperamentally the right people to be dealing with problems and needs of military command structures, says Alan Turing. There was lots of friction and tension during the first couple years until an official investigation about some of Black Sea Park's dysfunctionality had to be implemented.
