Only a handful of senior commanders, including the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kaderov and General Sirovakin, only they came out in support of Putin. Even the Belarus Security Council, formerly a puppet of Putin's, released a statement saying they support the war,. But nothing about Putin and the Russian government. The stand down came after Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian dictator, said he'd broke it a last minute truce to avoid a Russian civil war. Now a key element of the deal appears to be that the Kremlin will drop plans to abolish the Wagner military company and bring its fighters under Ministry of Defense Control.
