The Evolution of the Octopus

The closest intelligent life form we have on earth that is kind of like an alien I think would be an octopus because it's very distant from us evolutionarily and it's smart. It developed these things almost entirely independent evolutionary path which is really really interesting. One of the pieces of evidence that I use sort of to argue that if there are planets that could support life and you have the necessary ingredients for life  I think the chance that some form of intelligent life like an octopus developing is pretty pretty good.
