The Law of Cause and Effect

Emotions from reason are greater than emotions related to individual objects which we contemplate as absent so in his words reason always deals with common properties. If an emotion with many causes affects us we will feel less strongly to each cause than if there were fewer. The better the connection between the mind and body the less likely we be strongly affected by evil emotions.
